Corrinne and I are finally on our way. We’re sitting in the airport in Providence waiting on our flight to Newark. From there, we will catch a flight to Panama City, thus beginning The Great Central American Adventure.
This morning, I shaved my head (hot down there), shaved my face, and packed my brand new backpack (thanks to my stepmother and my grandmother for the brilliant Christmas present). The backpack is currently being stowed, but here’s a list of what I’m bringing with me for my 10-11 weeks in the tropics.
Long pants–2 pair
Button down shirts–4
Rubber booties (for snorkeling and surfing)
Razor with blades and shaving kit
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Water purification system
Motion sickness pills
Camera battery charger
So that’s it. I have enough to cover me (I hope) for the whole time we’re down there. I should be able to pick up anything on the list that I haven’t so far once we get there. Plus, I suspect more than a few things in my wardrobe will get swapped out once we get down there.
But everything is done. The bags are packed and checked, and we’re simply waiting on our flights. We’ll hit Panama City tonight and take a shuttle into town, check into our hostel and crash out for the night. That does it for preparation. Now comes the adventure.
I’ll have updates soon.
